Chartered Physiotherapist
Maria qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Thessaloniki in Greece in 2001 and started working in 2002 as a Paediatric and adult Physiotherapist. In 2003 she gained her postgraduate specialisation as Neurodevelopmental Therapist which she extended in 2008 by gaining further specialisation in Infant Neurodevelopmental Treatment. Among various other courses Maria trained in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Support of the Lower Limb, Gait Analysis and Training and on how the Visual System affects the control of posture-motor-function. She worked as a Neuro Physiotherapist in Greece from 2002 till 2014 and in 2015 she gained her HCPC registration in the UK where she has been working since. During her career, Maria gained working experience in a variety of complex multi-pathologies of adults, children and infants, such as neurological conditions, patients with cancer, musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain conditions, patients who underwent orthopaedic operations, age related disorders and learning disabilities.
